Joe's April Staff Pick

Buck

DVD SF 284.52 .B52 B83 2011

The movie Buck about a Wyoming horse trainer Buck Brannaman who travels all around the United States teaching people a different way to train their horses. You also learn more about his past and how he was raised by an abusive father and how he got into working with horses.

I recommend this movie to anyone who owns horses or wants to get into horses, Buck shows you how the horse thinks and how they feel and shows you how to work together as a team. He puts things in a different perspective about how you go and break horses since he was taught by Ray Hunt.

Joe's March Staff Pick

Think Harmony with Horses
By Ray Hunt

This book I’m only half way through and the amount of knowledge that Ray Hunt knows about horses is over whelming. He explains on what to think when your horse dose this or that and how to respond to their reaction. Ray hunt basically tells the reader that the horse is smarter then you and knows more then you. There is a saying that goes “You can lead a horse to water” Ray flips that saying around to be the horse will lead you to the watering hole of knowledge.

I think that this book is good book to read and will be towards anyone who has ever broke and trained horses before.
